Did you miss Stanley Tucci and his food adventures? I have good news. Stanley Tucci is returning to television next year.
Tucci—The Heart of Italy will begin production next year and appear on the National Geographic Channel. It will be similar to the CNN series that canceled last year and will follow Tucci as he explores Italy’s culinary diversity. The first season will have 10 episodes, four-to-six episodes more per season than CNN’s.
Did you watch the previous episodes of Tucci and his food adventures in Italy? If so, you know he traveled to only about half of Italy’s 20 regions (Regions are somewhat the equivalent of US states.)—Lazio, Lombardia, Toscana, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Sicilia, Campania, Puglia, Aosta. Those of us with roots in other regions (We’re talking about you, Abruzzo.) hope that he’ll finally explore them, too.
Searching for Italy
When Tucci started his food adventures a few years ago, we covered the shows and what he experienced. In case you want to remember and/or catch up before you watch the new series, check out our previous articles here, here, and here. You might also be interested in a recipe from his first show, spaghetti alla Nerano. Get that recipe here.
Stay Tuned
I’ll keep you updated as to when Tucci begins his food adventures in 2024. Until then, let me start making room on my DVR.
Yay!! So happy to hear he’s coming back, and looking forward to seeing where he takes us next. I love his shows…except maybe the one about offal in Rome…offal is awful!!!
