Italian Wine Takes Center Stage: Federdoc’s Miami Restaurant Wine Week

As Miami prepares for one of its most internationally attended weeks, Italian wine returns to the spotlight with Federdoc’s Miami Restaurant Wine Week, set for April 27 through May 3, 2026.

Taking place during the same period as the city’s FORMULA 1 race week—one of the most globally visible moments on Miami’s calendar—the initiative positions Italian wine within a broader cultural and lifestyle context. Yet beyond the energy of the week, the focus remains clear: education, authenticity, and connection to place.

Following the recent close of Vinitaly, where producers, buyers, and industry leaders gathered in Verona, Federdoc continues that conversation in Miami. This time, however, the setting is not a trade fair, but the dining table—where wine is experienced as part of everyday life.

At Vinitaly (April 12–15), Federdoc’s vibrant stand reflected that same mission, combining a bold visual identity with educational tools designed to make Italian Designation of Origin wines more accessible to a global audience.

Wine as Culture, Not Just Consumption

For Federdoc, Italian Designation of Origin wines are not simply products tied to geography. They represent a system of knowledge, responsibility, and tradition built over generations.

“Italian PDO wines represent far more than a geographical origin… they embody a system of rules, responsibility, and cultural identity,” according to a statement from Federdoc.

That perspective aligns closely with how Live in Italy Magazine approaches wine. It is not only about tasting notes or pairings, but also about understanding origin, production, and cultural context.

When we cannot travel to Italy, these are the moments that bring us closer—through shared tables, conversation, and a deeper appreciation of what is in the glass.

A Restaurant Week Designed for Discovery

From April 27 through May 3, ten restaurants across Miami will participate in Federdoc’s Miami Restaurant Wine Week, offering curated lunch, happy hour, and dinner experiences that highlight Italian wines through thoughtful pairings.

Participating restaurants include Amara at Paraiso (Miami), Battubelin – Upper East Side (Miami), Borti Pasta (Miami), Coral House (Miami), Dōma Wynwood (Miami), Lira Beirut (Miami), Pasta e Basta (Miami), Portosole (Coral Gables), Terre del Sapore (Coral Gables), and Tullio (Coral Gables).

Each location offers a different lens through which to experience Italian wine, from contemporary interpretations to more traditional expressions of regional cuisine.

At the same time, Federdoc introduces an educational component that sets this initiative apart. Informational booklets will be available at participating restaurants, guiding guests through regional wine maps, classification systems, and practical tips on how to read labels and identify quality.

Visitors will also learn how to approach wine tasting more intentionally and how to pair wine with food in a way that enhances both.

Miami as a Cultural Bridge for Italian Wine

Federdoc’s presence in Miami has grown steadily, reflecting the city’s role as both a cultural crossroads and an influential market.

During Miami Art Week 2025, Federdoc partnered with galleries across the city, bringing Italian wine into spaces dedicated to art and creative exchange. That initiative demonstrated how wine can move beyond traditional settings and engage audiences in new ways.

As Federdoc President Giangiacomo Gallarati Scotti Bonaldi noted, “Wine education is fundamental because PDO wines provide consumers with guarantees—quality, authenticity, and connection to territory.”

Federdoc’s Miami Restaurant Wine Week builds on that momentum, extending the experience into the city’s dining scene and reaching a broader audience.

A Contemporary Expression of Made in Italy

Positioned within a week that draws international attention, the initiative also reinforces the global relevance of Italian wine.

In this context, wine becomes part of a wider narrative—one that includes design, hospitality, and lifestyle. It reflects not only tradition, but also how Italian culture continues to evolve and connect with audiences worldwide.

Sustainability is also part of that story. Through frameworks such as Equalitas, Federdoc supports producers in aligning environmental, social, and economic practices with modern expectations, ensuring that quality and responsibility move forward together.

Looking Ahead

Federdoc’s Miami Restaurant Wine Week offers more than a series of dining experiences. It invites guests to engage with Italian wine in a way that is both accessible and meaningful—through education, conversation, and shared moments.
