Aperol Life View Offers a Glimpse into Hidden Venice

Aperol Partners with Google Maps & Creates an Interactive Venetian Journey

Ah Venice…a beloved Italian city visited by millions of tourists yearly! La Serenissima may be best known for its Carnival, gondolas, and Murano glass. However, did you know it is also the birthplace of the famous Aperol? Aperol is an Italian bitter apéritif (aperitivo) known for its vibrant red hue and bittersweet flavor, and is made of ingredients like gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, among others. When visiting Italy, you see the famous Aperol Spritz everywhere you go!

Aperol has launched an exciting new venture called “Life View” in collaboration with Google Maps. It invites enthusiasts over the age of 21 to participate in a 360° interactive journey into the depths of Venetian culture beyond the well-trodden tourist paths.

Unveiling Life View

To access this virtual journey, visit Aperol’s website. Then, navigate the interactive map to explore a new way of seeing Venice. This immersive experience allows you to discover the secrets of Venetian culture from the comfort of home.

Features of Life View

Glass Blowing Artistry at Wave Murano Glass

The adventure begins at Wave Murano Glass, where the ancient craft of glass blowing is brought to life. See a team of artisans transform empty Aperol bottles into beautiful Murano glass creations. These works are part of a social glass project that is committed to sustainability.

Gondola Ride

Next, float through Venice’s waterways alongside Andrea, Benedetta and Aldo, renowned gondoliers. Andrea Balbi is the current president of the gondoliers‘ association and Aldo is the former president. Aperol has also launched a boat that, due to its shape and size, can enter and navigate through all the canals of Venice.

This journey uncovers ten previously secluded canals on Google Street View, including Rio Brazzo and Rio Lustraferi.

Culinary Explorations & Sustainability

Then your exploration takes a delicious turn at Terrazza Aperol. Head Chef Samuele Silvestri and Sous Chef Andrea Dei Rossi guide you through the flavors of Venice. This segment offers a taste of the creativity and passion that fuel Venetian cuisine. Celebrate the city’s gastronomic heritage at Aperol’s flagship location.

Next up, Life View provides access to the sustainable initiatives of Donna Gnora. This family-owned farm distributes fresh produce to Venice residents using a rowboat. Their practice promotes local agriculture and preserves the fragile balance of Venice’s ecosystem, thereby strengthening the city’s affiliation with its surrounding environment.

Aperol’s story dates back to 1919 when it was first introduced at the International Trade Fair in Padova. Due to its lively orange essence, it quickly became a favorite in Venice and became an integral part of the city’s aperitivo culture. With “Life View,” Aperol renews its commitment to Venice by celebrating the city’s rich heritage and vibrant daily life.

Let’s raise a glass to this remarkable journey and explore Venice like never before–through the eyes of those who call it home.
