Whether or not you are an avid horoscope reader, a believer of the signs in the stars, or simply knowledgeable about your own star sign and its qualities, what cannot be denied is that, when we travel, we tend to have different agendas. Some people like to be constantly on their feet, discovering new places, others prefer to sit back and relax on a beach with a good book. Some are city folk, others are small town people.
If you’re not already aware, each star sign has a list of qualities pertaining to those born in that particular monthly period. Today, using these qualities, I will suggest to you which place in Italy is best for you based solely on your star sign. Let’s go!
Aries
Aries are known for being competitive, if not slightly insecure. Given this, a perfect Aries Italian holiday would take place in the Dolomites. In the winter the mountains are perfect for skiing and snowy walks, and in the summer the cool air makes them a great relief from the sticky heat. You can go on guided hikes if you’re not confident, or simply follow the signs for the trails.
Taurus
Qualities associated with the Taurus zodiac sign include being loyal but also stubborn. Nowhere screams loyalty quite like the birthplace of Romeo and Juliet who were both stubborn and loyal themselves. Verona offers a wonderful historical city experience with its Roman amphitheatre, Juliet’s balcony and the Piazza delle Erbe.
Gemini
Gemini is an infamous star sign known for having a dual personality. Geminis are versatile but impatient and therefore require a holiday destination which offers a number of possibilities. Sardinia is the perfect place, especially for a summer vacation. The capital, Cagliari, has a beautiful castle, cathedral and fascinating archaeological museum. There are plenty of beaches and islands such as Sant’Antioco island and San Pietro island with crystal blue water, perfect for swimming.
Cancer
Cancers are the emotional zodiac sign. They are very passionate if not sometimes uncommunicative. Being a water sign, a beach holiday sounds like the right option for a Cancer and down in Puglia, in the south of Italy, there are some of the most beautiful beaches, such as Polignano a Mare, Trani and Salento, just to name a few.
Leo
For the confident and sometimes dominating Leo, a city break is just the thing. Leos are the bold tourists who aren’t bothered by the hoards of people in a crowded city, so Italy’s capital, Rome, is an excellent choice. Rome is home to one of the seven wonders of the world: the Colosseum, and is also offers other exciting attractions such as the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, which are walk away from the Vatican.
Virgo
For Virgos, who are the perfectionists of the zodiac world, Milan is the right destination. The business capital of Italy suits the logical, practical, and systematic nature of the Virgo. With its stunning cathedral and various shopping centres, including Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan has something to keep a Virgo busy all day.
Libra
Libra is one of the air zodiac signs and is known for balance and equilibrium. For this reason a relaxing countryside vacation in Tuscany will keep a Libra feeling peaceful and with a sense of symmetry. There are a number of vineyards to explore, walks to enjoy, and even truffle hunting. And if Libras feel like making a day trip to a city, Florence and Pisa are right on the doorstep.
Scorpio
Wise and mysterious Scorpios would be at home vacationing in Venice, where there are numerous side streets and canals to explore. Venice is the perfect place to lose your way and discover picture-perfect spots. A boat trip is a must and islands like Murano and colourful Burano are just a taxi-boat away.
Sagittarius
The fiery Sagittarian sign is both spontaneous and in constant search of knowledge. Naples is filled with history and this hectic and chaotic city is perfect for a Sagittarius. You can head to Pompeii and the Herculaneum for your fix of the ancient world and be sure to try the famous Neapolitan pizza which will leave you wanting more.
Capricorn
Given that Capricorn is an earth sign, it is only right to choose an inland destination. Florence, located in Tuscany, is full of things to do for the goal-oriented Capricorn. The famous Uffizi art gallery should not be missed, together with the stunning duomo and the Medici chapel. This Renaissance city is known for its sculptures and masterpieces, including Michelangelo’s David.
Aquarius
For the humanitarian and philosophical Aquarius, Sicily is an excellent location. It can be both a beach or sightseeing holiday, as Sicily is home to the valley of the temples, the ancient theatre of Taormina and of course the city of Palermo with its beautiful cathedral. For those who like geography, there are guided tours of the great Mount Etna.
Pisces
Pisces are known for their empathy and sensitivity which makes the theatrical backdrop of Cinque Terre the perfect place to go. Right on the Ligurian coast sit five towns: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. With their stunning colourful buildings and picture-perfect corners, Pisces will feel right at home here. It is also the ideal location for a great view of the sunset.
