Silent Elegance: Lumen Yachts at the Venice Boat Show 2025

Set against the historic backdrop of the Arsenale, the debut of Lumen Yachts at the Venice Boat Show 2025 marks one of the most anticipated moments in sustainable luxury this year. From May 29 to June 2, the Venice Boat Show (Salone Nautico Venezia) welcomes this innovative electric yacht brand. Lumen promises to transform marine travel by prioritizing silence, smart design, and respect for the sea.

Electric Innovation with a Quiet Soul

Crafted in the Netherlands in collaboration with Mulder Design, the Lumen E10 is a fully electric yacht built for the modern explorer. Every element—from its minimalist design to its intelligent systems—has been created for an intuitive experience on the water. The E10 glides without noise or emissions, offering a peaceful connection to the sea and its marine life. Rather than chase speed, Lumen champions serenity. This new model sets a higher standard for sustainable performance.

A Vision Rooted in Tranquility

Founder Jaap de Jonge grew up in Giethoorn, where silent boats shaped his love for hydrodynamics. After earning a master’s in the field, he worked at renowned shipyards including Damen and Royal Huisman. In 2020, he debuted the E32 prototype in Düsseldorf. That success laid the foundation for the smaller, more refined E10. Jaap’s vision was clear: replicate the calm of sailing with the ease of a motorboat. Today, that idea powers Lumen’s mission to build electric yachts that are both graceful and efficient.

Sustainability Takes the Helm in Venice

The debut of Lumen Yachts comes at a defining moment for the Venice Boat Show. Now in its sixth year, the show highlights sustainable innovation more than ever before. This year, over 270 exhibitors and 300 vessels will participate. A dedicated section will feature electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered propulsion. The focus extends to the blue economy and new marine technologies, including zero-emission engines and circular materials.

“Venice once again shows it can blend centuries of history with technological innovation and environmental sustainability.” — Luigi Brugnaro, Mayor of Venice

This is more than a luxury showcase. The show acts as a hub for conversation and experimentation. Visitors can join talks on marine biodiversity and sustainable tourism. They can also explore interactive installations promoting accessible design and inclusive boating.

Venice: Where Past Meets Propulsion

Visiting the Arsenale during the boat show means stepping into a place where history and innovation meet. Once the center of the Venetian Republic’s naval power, the Arsenale now hosts one of Europe’s most forward-thinking nautical exhibitions. Its mix of docks, historic spaces, and open-air displays offers the perfect setting for electric innovations like the Lumen E10.

Beyond the event, Venice remains a dream destination. Gondola rides in the Rio delle Galeazze, contemporary art installations, and nearby events like the Venice Biennale add cultural depth to the visit. For anyone who loves boating and meaningful travel, this experience offers both.
