Eataly Aventura Is Open: A Taste of Italy in South Florida

Eataly Aventura is open! With doors opening June 12, South Floridians can finally experience the flavors and traditions of Italy in one immersive destination. Located inside Aventura Mall, the marketplace officially welcomed media and select guests for a VIP Preview on June 11. With over 30,000 square feet of restaurants, markets, and cultural offerings, Eataly Aventura is more than a food destination. It is a celebration of Italian life and heritage. Live in Italy Magazine was there to take it all in.

This is Eataly’s first Florida location and the only one in the Southeastern United States. The VIP Preview welcomed more than 200 guests and included a tasting of Calvisius caviar bumps, a live Parmigiano Reggiano DOP wheel cracking, and freshly hand-sliced Prosciutto di Parma DOP. The evening highlighted the authenticity and attention to detail that Eataly is known for.

Guests arriving through the valet entrance were greeted by a vibrant mural from Florida-born artist Jason Woodside. Known for his large-scale, vividly patterned public art, Woodside’s work added a distinct sense of place and color. While Eataly locations share a cohesive global design, this Miami-specific artwork connects the marketplace to its community in a meaningful and memorable way.

Designed to Slow You Down

Eataly’s signature layout draws inspiration from Italian piazzas and food markets. Each location is designed to encourage guests to slow down, browse, and enjoy. There are no clocks on the walls. This subtle design choice allows time to fade into the background, creating an experience centered on flavor, culture, and discovery.

Eataly Aventura follows this immersive approach while embracing South Florida’s vibrant culinary energy. From layout to signage, it’s clear the focus remains on Italian excellence with a local twist.

“An Important Milestone”

During the preview event, Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, shared remarks on the significance of this location.

“This is an important milestone for us. After that, we will have a store open in West Palm Beach. We are very happy and hope you enjoy it.”

He continued:

“Eataly is something more valuable. Our founder created the idea: eat, shop, and learn. Why learn? Because there is a strong cultural component. We want people to experience the Italian lifestyle—even if they’re not physically in Italy. Aventura is about more than luxury. It’s about culture. That makes it the perfect place for us.”

Eat, Shop, and Learn

The space includes two full-service restaurants: La Pizza & La Pasta and Il Pastaio. The first celebrates iconic dishes like Neapolitan pizza and regional pasta recipes. The second showcases the art of fresh pasta-making, with daily production visible from the dining area.

Quick-service counters include Lavazza for coffee, Il Gelato, La Pasticceria, Pizza alla Pala, and Panini. Whether guests want an espresso, a sweet treat, or a slice of Roman-style pizza, options abound throughout the day.

The retail marketplace features a curated selection of Made in Italy products and housemade specialties. These include bronze-extruded pasta, sauces, extra virgin olive oil, sweets, DOP cheeses and meats, and seasonal items like caviar and panettone. The wine shop offers labels from all 20 Italian regions, plus rare and aged selections in a dedicated Riserva room.

True to Eataly’s philosophy, the cooking school invites guests to go beyond shopping and dining. It offers hands-on classes, tastings, and educational experiences that bring Italy’s culinary traditions to life.

A Commitment to Made in Italy

From the beginning, Eataly has championed Italian excellence. Founded in 2007 in Torino by Oscar Farinetti, the brand was built on a vision of preserving and promoting Italy’s food and cultural heritage. That mission continues today under Global CEO Andrea Cipolloni and North America CEO Tommaso Brusò.

“Our values are about lifestyle and education,” said Brusò. “We are proud to bring that to South Florida.”

To celebrate its opening, Eataly Aventura launched ten days of public programming. Many of the free tastings and workshops filled quickly, reflecting the community’s excitement. Additional ticketed events and classes will continue to welcome guests in the coming days.
