From April 21 to 26, 2026, the 64th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano returns to Fiera Milano Rho, reaffirming its role as the leading international event for design and furnishings. This edition arrives with strong momentum, a sold-out exhibition floor, and a clear global vision.
More than 1,900 exhibitors will participate, with over 36% coming from abroad. The fair spans more than 169,000 square meters, confirming its continued international reach and influence.
Yet beyond the numbers, Salone del Mobile 2026 signals a deeper shift. It positions design as both a cultural language and an economic driver in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
A Global Platform Shaped by International Dialogue

In recent months, Salone del Mobile has expanded its presence far beyond Italy. Notably, its continued collaboration with Art Basel has strengthened its connection to the global collecting world.
After debuting at Art Basel Miami Beach, the Salone extended its reach to Hong Kong with a curated Collector’s Lounge. This initiative places Italian design directly within high-level art and investment ecosystems.
This strategy reflects a broader goal. The Salone is not simply exporting products. Instead, it builds relationships in markets where design intersects with culture, architecture, and capital.

At the same time, the U.S. remains a key market. A recent coast-to-coast roadshow in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York highlighted the strong ties between Italian design and the American architecture and real estate sectors.
Support from the Italian Trade Agency continues to play an important role. Together, these initiatives strengthen the global positioning of Made in Italy design while expanding international audiences.
A Matter of Salone: From Material to Meaning
Each edition of Salone del Mobile is guided by a central theme. For 2026, the concept is “A Matter of Salone.”
This campaign shifts the focus to material itself. It explores how raw elements evolve into meaningful design. The idea moves beyond aesthetics and function. Instead, it highlights process, transformation, and value.
The campaign brings together photographers and designers in a multidisciplinary approach. Their work reflects both the physical and symbolic role of materials in contemporary design.
As a result, visitors can expect a more intuitive and immersive experience. A redesigned layout and improved wayfinding system will help navigate the fair with greater clarity.
The Return of the Biennials
The 2026 edition also marks the return of two major biennial exhibitions: EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition.
EuroCucina, alongside FTK – Technology For the Kitchen, will showcase the evolution of kitchen design. Expect smart appliances, integrated systems, and sustainable materials. Kitchens are becoming more interactive and personalized, while maintaining their role as a cultural space rooted in Italian tradition.
Meanwhile, the International Bathroom Exhibition will focus on wellness and longevity. The modern bathroom now functions as a “home spa,” combining design, technology, and accessibility. Water efficiency, durability, and smart features will define the category.
Together, these exhibitions reflect how design increasingly shapes everyday living through both innovation and emotion.
New Platforms: Collectible Design and Future Markets
Among the most anticipated additions is Salone Raritas (Pavilions 9–11), debuting at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 as an atlas of collectible design. The platform brings together curated icons, unique and “outsider” pieces, limited editions, antiques, and high-end creative craftsmanship.
Looking ahead, Salone del Mobile.Milano is also developing Salone Contract, a long-term initiative focused on the evolving contract furnishing sector. Rather than highlighting individual products, the project explores how systems, services, and expertise now shape large-scale projects across hospitality, retail, and real estate.
In 2026, visitors will see an important first phase. A thematic journey across exhibitors will offer a cross-cutting view of the contract sector, alongside international forums organized in collaboration with OMA. The full concept will continue to develop ahead of its structured debut in 2027.
SaloneSatellite and the Next Generation
SaloneSatellite returns as a key platform for emerging talent. More than 700 designers under 35 and 23 international schools will participate.
This year’s focus centers on craftsmanship and innovation. Young designers are blending traditional techniques with new technologies. They are also embracing sustainability and circular design principles.
As a result, SaloneSatellite continues to shape the future of the industry while connecting new talent with global brands.
Design Beyond the Fair: Milan as a Living Stage
During Milan Design Week, the Salone extends throughout the city. More than 200 showrooms will open their doors, creating a dynamic urban experience.
Cultural programming will include talks, installations, and collaborations. Highlights include the Drafting Futures series and special projects across Milan’s key locations.
The official opening at Teatro alla Scala underscores the event’s cultural significance. Design, music, and architecture come together in a uniquely Milanese setting.
Looking Ahead to April

Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 arrives at a moment of transformation for the design industry. It balances heritage with innovation while expanding its global reach.
From international partnerships to new exhibition formats, the fair continues to evolve. At its core, however, remains a simple idea: design shapes how we live.
As Milan prepares to welcome the world once again, Salone del Mobile stands ready to define the next chapter of global design.
