Throughout the weekend, Festival del Formaggio offers a diverse and high-quality tasting program. Renowned speakers from across Europe include Luca Conti, Armando Gambera, Bettina Lindner, Marion Nussler, Dominik Flammer, Herbert Steiner, and Andrea Bovo. They will lead guests through practical cheese workshops. These sessions, lasting about 45 minutes, will be translated simultaneously into Italian.

Culinary Creations by Michelin-Starred Chefs

Live cooking demonstrations by Michelin-starred chefs will allow spectators to closely observe and savor delightful culinary creations. Additionally, chefs, industry pros, and students from regional hotel schools will participate. This year marks the presence of Osteperler, a Norwegian cheese academy. Numerous restaurants and hotels will offer a cheese-based menu paired with refined wines. The festival guarantees the presence of hosts from Campo Tures, Molini di Tures, Acereto, and Chienes in Val Pusteria.

As customary, the festival dedicates a specially designed program for the little ones, promising a tasty and fun experience. From DIY workshops to cheese-making, the goal is to make children aware of the history, production, and versatility of this product, all within a playful atmosphere.

Graukäse from Valle Aurina: Not Just Gray Cheese

Martin Pircher, the founder and driving force behind the Cheese Festival, expresses enthusiasm for this new edition. From the presence of a few local cheese producers, the event has grown to attract producers and visitors from around the world. Pircher’s vision has proven to be correct, and the Cheese Festival has progressively grown, gaining credibility and establishing itself as a cornerstone in the field of sector events.

My stubbornness in wanting to create a cheese festival has rewarded all of us; it has always been a team effort. The goal of highlighting the work of local cheese producers and bringing out the Graukäse from Valle Aurina was not an easy path, but the initial challenges have been a constant stimulus to continually improve. Proof of this is the Slow Food presidium in 2004 and last year’s prestigious Gist Food Travel Award as the best food and wine event in Italy.

Amidst so much dedication and passion, those who visit our region discover, through the taste of our genuine products, the result of sincere and passionate work. The Cheese Festival will take place in the center of Campo Tures, in a spacious covered and heated exhibition area of 1,200 square meters, operating continuously from 10 am to 7 pm.
