Ciao! I’m Valentina, a Colombian journalist and writer based in Trieste. I came here by chance and stayed for love, especially the food. I don’t believe in the “dolce vita” sold in the movies. I’m here to share real life in Italy: the beautiful, the difficult, and everything in between that comes with packing your life into a 20-kilo suitcase and starting over on the other side of the world. I write about expat life in your twenties, memorable trips on a budget, local events, and the small adventures that make it all worth it. I’m a wine enthusiast, a new foodie, and a terrible swimmer (despite living by the sea). With me, you'll find a simple guide to avoid the mistakes I made and make the most of life in Italy.
